Blog Post #4

I am currently reading Paper Towns by John Green. The book is is written in 1st person from Q's point of view. Q narrates his high school life all before his graduation and he is also the main character. In the story the author states, "The way I figure it, everyone gets a miracle." You can tell that it is in first person because Q uses the word "I" when something is thought or spoken.

Blog Post 3

The title of my book is Paper Towns by John Green. The conflict in my book is that a girl had ran away and no one decides to take action because she is considered a "legal adult" since she is 18 years of age. After a boy named Quentin (or Q) found out he had felt like matters needed to be taken into his own hands. (Actually he needed to find her because he was deeply in love with her.) Q then goes on this journey to find Margo, imagining the worst every time he thought about her. His thoughts getting worse as the days go by and he had yet to find her, "'No one will ever be the new Margo,' I said...Worded like a question and spoken like a statement, 'She's dead, isn't she.'" (184-185)

Blog Post #2

I am currently reading the book Paper Towns by John Green. One of the main characters in the book is Quentin or better known by his nickname, Q. The book is in Q's point of view. Q is 17 years old. Q is like the good kid. He goes to school on time and he doesn't even remember when he rebelled. Well until Margo came to his window one night. Q is the cautious type of person and he hates "being late" to school. As the author states, "The longest day of my life started tardily...I usually got a ride to school with my best friend , Ben Starling, but Ben had gone to school on time, making him useless to me. 'On time' for us was thirty minutes before school actually started," Pg.11 Q has been the good kid and that is why he has such a connection with his parents. His parents never expect him to rebel like his old friend and neighbor, Margo Roth Spiegelman. Until Margo decides to do one of her famous runaway acts and leaves the clues only for Q to find.

Thoughts on Animal Testing

1. I think animals should be treated the same. A lot of animals are known to be dangerous but it is because of how they were trained. If you are abusive to an animal they learn to get more defensive and aggressive.
2. I think we shouldn't test on animals because it could hurt them. I think we should create another way to test certain things so it doesn't harm anything or anyone.
3. No because everything in the world is made for a reason so if one species goes extinct because we test on it so much then the world would go out of order.
4. If you do test the drug on animals and it kills them how would it be able to save 1,000,000 lives if they killed another spieces in the process?

Sketchnote: Mutations

I learned that mutations can go three ways. They can benefit a species , create a problem for the species, or do nothing to that species. The. Oust interesting mutation I have learned about was the Blue People of Kentucky. I would want to learn more about the cat with the two different eye colors.

Blog Post 1

Something about me is that I love music, I like writing, and drawing. I like animals too. (Pretty Basic) This school year has drained me of my energy. Just being honest. It's been a good year so far because I was able to see my old friends and new friends. I think I am doing good in biology this year. I turned in everything on time and I actually payed attention in class. It's a good year so far.

Blog 16: Workshop (Writing/Reading)

I write about a kid struggling with depression and feeling alone. It was about a kid who just wanted to be loved but instead he gets bullied as school and at home. The kid is continuously being called worthless and unwanted.

Blog 12: Legacy

I want to be known for helping out others. I want to be able to be known for helping others with the hard points in their life like depression. I want to be known for making people happy when they aren't. I hope I would have been able to change the amount of problems and lower them just a bit.

Career Choices

If kids had their career choices picked for them at the age of 12 I think that it would be helpful, but also not a good idea. I think that getting their career choices picked for them by the age of 12 would be useful so that they didn't have to go through the struggle of trying to find a job in the future and everything is all set for them. If the kids had their jobs already chosen from their interests now it could really help them in the future.
The downside for having 12 year old's jobs getting chosen for them at the young age is not really a good idea because even if the jobs were based off their interests as kids that could always change in the future. Even if in the future them didn't have the same interests as their younger self they would be very miserable at their actual job.

Blog Six: New Chapter Title

Chapter 10 Memorable Pain
In the chapter it talks about how the old reciver of memory was going to transfer the memories of the world when Jonas noticed how old he looked. In the book the old reciver of memory stated, "I am not, actually, as old as I look," and that shows some of the things that the old reciver went through had aged him very fast. In the chapter they also talk about some of the things that sound painful like getting transferred the memories and other pain he may have to go through.
